Welcome to Awful Movie Night

Among my most fond memories as a teen was wandering around the sci-fi and horror sections of my local video store with friends, and picking out the most ridiculous movie we could find. The worse the movie was, the better an evening we had. (For those of you wondering, the best worst movie is totally The Refrigerator).

In an attempt to reclaim the glories days, I started hosting Awful Movie Night for my friends. The rules were simple: prior to the event, I would go to a thrift store and browse the VHS selection . Yes, it has to be VHS, awful movies are best enjoyed in the VHS format. I’d pick the best looking awful movie available, preference generally given to Sci-Fi, Horror, and the 1980s. My friends would come over in the evening, and magic would happen.
